Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Franchise FAQ
Flint Chimney Sweep is part of the Garrison Partners family, founded in 2002. We built this company on one idea: a clean, safe chimney every time, delivered by local owners who live and work in their own communities. The answers below cover what we look for in a franchise owner and how our system works.
Common Questions
Do I need chimney or fireplace experience to own a Flint Chimney Sweep location?
No. We hire and train technicians ourselves, and we teach owners how to run the business. What you do need is a willingness to follow The Garrison Code: show up inside the window we gave, price in writing before any work starts, do it by the book, and stand behind the work for a full year. We can train the skills. The discipline has to be yours.
What does a Flint Chimney Sweep franchise cost?
The total investment range depends on territory size, vehicle setup, and local market conditions. For specific figures on initial franchise fees, equipment, and working capital requirements, call (830) 251-4560. We provide a plain-language breakdown before you commit to anything, the same way we give homeowners a written price before any work starts.
Can I finance the investment?
We don’t offer in-house financing, and we don’t make promises about what a bank will do. What we do is help you build a clear business plan with real numbers so you can have an informed conversation with your lender. Many owners bring their own financing or use SBA-backed loans, but every situation is different. Call us and we’ll walk you through what the financial picture actually looks like.
Will I have an exclusive territory?
Each Flint Chimney Sweep location operates in a defined service area, which we agree on before you sign. The size and shape of that territory depends on population density, drive times, and existing coverage. We don’t overlap our own locations. If a customer in your area calls us, they’re yours.
How long does training take?
Initial training covers both the technical side, sweeping, inspection, and repair using professional-grade materials like DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield, and the business side, scheduling, pricing, and customer communication. Most owners complete training within a few weeks, followed by ongoing field support. We don’t rush it. You’ll know how to run the place before you’re on your own.
Are there ongoing fees or royalties?
Yes, like any franchise system, there are ongoing fees that support the brand, training, and operational support. The exact structure varies by location and includes a royalty on revenue. We’ll give you the full fee schedule in writing before you decide anything, no surprises, same as the chimney work.
How long does it take to open my location?
From signing to your first job, most owners are up and running within three to six months. That includes territory setup, training, equipment procurement, and local licensing. Your timeline depends partly on how quickly you move through the process and local permitting. We’ll keep you on schedule.
What support do franchise owners receive?
You get trained, background-checked technicians in uniform, help with scheduling and dispatch, marketing support, and a live person answering the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at the corporate level. Every job carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise, a written guarantee on every repair, valid for a full year. If a covered repair fails, we return at no charge. That promise is yours to lean on. It makes selling the work easier.
What does Flint Chimney Sweep look for in an owner?
We look for people who follow through. The homeowner we serve is worn out by no-shows, prices that move at the door, and sloppy work. Our owners are the fix for that. You don’t need to be the most charming person in the room. You need to show up inside the window you gave, put the price in writing, do the job by the book, and leave the site clean. If that sounds like you, we should talk.
What’s my next step?
Call (830) 251-4560 and ask for franchise information. We’ll send you an overview, answer your questions in plain English, and tell you whether this is a fit. No pressure, no countdowns, no inflated promises. Just the facts.
Still Have Questions?
The fastest way to get answers is a phone call. Reach our franchise team at (830) 251-4560 and speak to a live person, any day, any hour. Or submit the form on this page and we’ll call you back with the details.
