Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Local pricing and availability vary by location - your local Flint Chimney Sweep team confirms the final price in writing before any work begins.
Every job is priced the same way: a free written estimate
We price the job, not the hour. Before anyone touches anything, you get the full price for the specific work in writing - no hourly meter, no membership to join, no financing to sign, and no line items added afterwards. If the number isn’t right for you, the estimate is still free and you owe us nothing.
How We Price Chimney Cleaning Work
Every job at Flint Chimney Sweep is priced job by job, off a free written estimate. No hourly rate. No plan to join. No subscription that quietly renews. You see the full number for your specific job, in writing, before anyone picks up a brush or climbs onto your roof – and that number doesn’t move.
That matters because the alternative is what most homeowners have already experienced at least once: a technician quotes a rough range over the phone, arrives, and the invoice ends up somewhere else entirely. We don’t work that way. The written estimate is the price. If we find something additional once we’re inside the flue, we stop, tell you what we found, and put a new number in writing before we touch it. You stay in control of what gets done and what it costs.
What a Visit Actually Costs You to Find Out
Nothing. The estimate visit is free.
When we come out, a background-checked, uniformed Flint technician looks at the chimney – the firebox, the flue, the crown, the cap, the exterior masonry where accessible – and tells you what the job actually requires. That conversation is honest. If the chimney is clean and safe, we’ll say so. If there’s work to do, you’ll get the scope and the price in writing before we do any of it.
The visit takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes depending on the system. At the end of it you have a written price in hand and you’re under no obligation to schedule anything. Call it a second opinion if you want one. We’d rather earn the job than pressure you into it.
When People Usually Call Us
The busiest stretch in this trade runs from late summer into early fall. That’s the sweep-and-inspect window before burning season opens, and if you wait until October to schedule, you’re competing with every other homeowner in the area who had the same idea. We stay booked through that stretch every year. Earlier is easier.
Storm season is a different kind of call. Wind and heavy rain find the weak spots – a cracked crown, a loose cap, a mortar joint that held all winter but didn’t make it through the freeze-thaw cycle. Those calls tend to come in fast and the damage is usually visible from the ground.
Spring brings a third wave. People noticed a smell, a stain on the firebox, or a draft that didn’t behave right all winter, and now that the season’s over they have time to deal with it. That’s a completely reasonable moment to call. The chimney isn’t going anywhere, and a sweep and inspection after the burning season tells you exactly what you’re dealing with before the following fall.
Any of those situations is a good reason to pick up the phone. We’ll send someone out, take a look, and give you a straight answer.
What You Can Expect From Us Either Way
Whether you come in through an offer or just call the number, the standards are the same. That’s the whole point of The Garrison Standard – it applies to every job, not just the ones we’re trying to win.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
- Written price before any work starts. Every time, no exceptions.
- 365-Day Done Right Promise. Every repair is backed by a written guarantee valid for one full year from the service date. If a covered repair fails in that time, we come back and make it right at no charge – no argument, no runaround.
- Background-checked, uniformed technicians. You know who’s walking through the door before they arrive.
- A live person answers the phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Not a form. Not a callback queue. A person.
- Professional-grade materials. Where repairs require product, we work with trusted trade brands – DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield – specified for the job, not for the margin.
Flint has been part of the Garrison Partners family since 2002. The name goes back further than that – flint is the hard stone that strikes a spark, which suits the work. The standard hasn’t changed.
Common Questions
Is the estimate really free?
Yes, fully free. A Flint technician comes out, inspects the chimney, and gives you a written price for any work it needs – no charge for the visit itself, and no obligation to book. If you decide not to move forward, you owe nothing.
Do you offer financing or a monthly plan?
No, and that’s deliberate. We price every job off a free written estimate – one clear number for the specific job, agreed to in writing before any work starts. There’s no financing product, no payment plan, no membership, and nothing to sign up for. We’ve found that a single honest price up front works better for everyone than layered billing arrangements.
Can I combine two offers?
Offers are limited to one per household per visit. If you’re not sure which applies to your situation, the person who answers the phone can sort it out with you in about two minutes – call (830) 251-4560.
Does the price change once you’re on the job?
No. The written estimate is the price on the invoice – those two numbers match. If we open up a flue and find something we couldn’t see during the estimate, we stop work, explain what we found, and give you a revised written price before we proceed. You decide whether to authorize it. We don’t add to the scope without your approval.
