The Promise, in One Paragraph
Every repair Flint Chimney Sweep performs is covered by a written workmanship guarantee for exactly 365 days from the date of service. If the work doesn’t hold, we come back and make it right at no charge – no forms, no fees, no argument. This is The Garrison Standard: the same written promise that every location in the Garrison Partners family puts on every repair job, backed by the same simple rule. Do it right the first time, and if it falls short, do it again.
What’s Covered
- The workmanship on any repair we performed. If a repair we completed fails within 365 days of the service date, that failure is covered – full stop.
- Parts and materials we supplied and installed. If a component we sourced and installed – whether that’s a DuraFlex liner section, a HeatShield application, a Gelco cap, or any other part we put in – fails within the window, it’s our responsibility to fix it.
- A return visit at no charge. We schedule the visit, we show up, and you pay nothing for the call itself.
- A full redo when a repair doesn’t hold. We don’t patch a patch and walk away. If it didn’t hold the first time, we go back to the root of it and do it correctly.
- Clean-up after the return visit. Same standard we hold on the first visit – we leave the site the way we found it.
- Camera documentation on the return visit. We inspect, we photograph, and we show you what we found and what we fixed – same process as the original job.
What Isn’t Covered
- Damage caused by a storm, fire, or accident after our visit. A fallen tree limb that cracks a crown we installed, or storm water that shifts masonry we repaired – those are external events, not workmanship failures. We’ll still come look and give you an honest assessment.
- Work performed by a different contractor after we left. If someone else opens up or modifies the area we worked on, we can no longer stand behind what we did there. That’s fair to everyone involved.
- Parts or materials supplied by the customer. We stand behind what we source and install. We can’t guarantee performance of a part we didn’t specify, inspect, or supply.
- Normal wear on equipment we didn’t install. A damper that was aging when we arrived, or a firebox that had pre-existing deterioration – those aren’t covered by this promise, though we will tell you clearly what we saw and what we’d recommend.
- Problems we flagged that the customer declined to have fixed. If we documented a condition during our inspection and you decided to hold off, that item isn’t covered under this guarantee. We understand timing and budgets. We’ll still note it in the job record so it doesn’t fall through the cracks.
- Routine sweep and inspection findings that require separate repairs. A chimney sweep clears deposits. If the sweep reveals a structural issue that was always there, a new repair estimate covers that work – and that estimate, once approved, carries its own 365-day promise.
How to Use the Promise
Step 1: Call (830) 251-4560 or book online
A live person answers around the clock – no voicemail tree, no hold music, no callback form to fill out. Tell us you have a concern about work we did and we take it from there.
Step 2: Tell us the job and roughly when
You don’t need to find your receipt or dig up paperwork. We have the job on file – the date, the scope, the technician, and the written price that was agreed before work started. Just tell us what you’re seeing and when it started.
Step 3: We schedule the return visit
We’ll give you a window the same way we did for the original appointment. No vague “someone will call you.” A specific window, a background-checked uniformed technician, and the job on the schedule.
Step 4: We make it right
The technician inspects the area, identifies what failed, and corrects it. If parts are needed, we supply them. The only thing you sign is the completed work order. There is no charge for a covered return visit.
Timing
The 365-day window opens on the date the work was completed and closes exactly one year later. If you contact us on day 366 and the situation sounds like it could be related to our work, we’re still going to come look. That’s not a loophole – that’s how we think a reasonable company should behave. Each Flint Chimney Sweep location is independently owned and operated, but every one of them operates under The Garrison Standard. The promise travels with the job, regardless of which location performed the work.
